On December 3rd, Monash University launched the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW), a research centre dedicated to increased understanding and working towards the elimination of violence against women in Australia and the Indo-Pacific.
Splinter Society was honoured to be engaged to design the interior fitout for the research facility. Drawing inspiration from the Indigenous yarning circle, the design of the spaces fosters connection, collaboration, and dialogue. The facility features an integrated indoor-outdoor meeting space, an open-plan office, private offices, and a conference room.
In keeping with a commitment to honour Indigenous culture, the fitout incorporates artwork and furniture crafted by Indigenous artists, celebrating their heritage and stories.
Our team attended the Welcome to Country Smoking Ceremony and was delighted to see people coming together in the new space.
